Unit C6 – Articulation

  • Students need to understand staccato and legato sounds individually before approaching this technique.
  • Discuss how we use the weight of the arm to make different sounds, and encourage the student to experiment using scales patterns or other simple technical exercises.
  • Ensure students are floating off from the second note, and not emphasising it with the staccato sound.
