For Unit D10, students should get the chance to play pieces in the following keys, and to add these key signatures to the list of ones they are able to recognise:
- A minor
- D minor
- E minor
Activities
- Encourage students to check the key signature of pieces before they start to play.
- Sometimes it is helpful to play the scale or arpeggio in the same key before working on a new piece.
- Try some improvisation in new keys to get used to the feel and sound of them.
