Unit F13 Ornaments

Trills are introduced in Stage F. Students should learn to identify and play simple trills in their pieces.


Activities

  • Ask students to identify and name trill symbols in their pieces.
  • Play these ornaments for the student and ask them to explain what is happening. You may need to play them at a slow speed first. 
  • Writing out the ornaments in full notation on manuscript paper can help to establish the basic pattern for future use.
