In Stage G the following ornaments are introduced:
- turns
- appoggiaturas
Students should learn to confidently execute these ornaments and to identify them on the score.
Activities
- Ensure the students can confidently identify the symbols for each of these ornaments
- Check the student is clear about the difference between appoggiaturas and acciaccaturas, both on the page and audibly.
- Ask the student to write out ornaments on manuscript paper so they are clear about the pattern.
